What Is Soft Washing?

Soft Washing

Soft washing is a low pressure cleaning method used for cleaning house sidings. It is the safest house washing method available.  When you soft wash your house, you use about the same amount of pressure that comes out of your garden hose. This amount of pressure is all you need to clean your homes siding. Using high pressure can cause damage.

How To Soft Wash

A cleaning detergent is applied to the siding from bottom to top using low pressure. It is applied with the pressure washer soap applicator or a dedicated 12 volt chemical pump. In the video above the detergent is applied with a 12 volt pump. For best results, apply the cleaner in 5 ft increments. Finish one section completely before moving to the next. The cleaning detergent that Aspen Power Washing uses starts to remove mold and dirt on contact.

The Final Rinse

After applying the detergent and letting it set for 30 minutes, most of the mold and dirt will be removed. What is left will be removed with a special soft washing rinse nozzle. Rinsing is done the opposite from applying detergent. To rinse, start from the top moving from left to right and work your way down to the bottom. This is the proper way to rinse the exterior of your house. Continue rinsing until you remove all of the cleaning detergent and debris from your homes siding.
